Welcome to Wal’s Works! Formerly known as Wal’s Holes, we are an established and well-respected company in the drilling, excavating and site preparation industry. Owned and operated by Keith Whalley (Wal) since 1984, we have been servicing the greater Whangarei and Northland area providing services with our extensive range of machinery including diggers, bobcats, crane trucks and much more.
When Keith started his business more than 3 decades ago, all he had was a truck-mounted drill rig which was predominantly used for drilling offal holes for farmers. However, the new “Rogernomics” was not a good time for a farming-based business, so he built a second machine that was more useful in the busier building industry. In 1988 he purchased his first digger to service builders, drainlayers, farmers and homeowners. This digger was the first in Northland to have drilling and pole-driving attachments.
Since then, a lot has changed here at Wal’s including our name. We currently have 7 highly trained and experienced staff to operate all our machines, and we sometimes take on casual workers when the demand is there. In addition to plenty of experience in the industry, we also have a multitude of attachments suitable for projects including drilling, excavating, mulching and compacting, enabling us to pretty much carry out any work on residential and commercial sites, no matter how easy or steep the terrain. No job is too big or small.
We also offer supply and installation of water tanks as well as water delivery within the greater Whangarei area and elsewhere in Northland upon request. Our latest service addition is welding of various types of steel, both on-site and at our workshop.
